Covid-19 Guidance for Families
Introduction
We are looking forward to welcoming back many more students in September and to restarting our work together onsite as a learning community. Staff in school are working hard to make sure everything is ready and we need the support of families and students to make sure all members of the community, both in school and more widely, are kept as safe as possible within the parameters schools have been given.
I would be grateful if all families could watch the short video below and then take a close look through the attached guide (s). As parents/carers, your help in making sure students are familiar with our plans is important.
The requirements placed on schools at this time will inevitably have a detrimental effect on the education we can offer. However, we at The Minster School are determined to offer the most we can and to continue supporting students with further enhancements of our online resources. The arrangements outlined in our plans will only be in place for as long as we are required to have them and we look forward with optimism both to the return of students in September and to the "opening up" of our offer in months to come.
Additional documents
Alongside the main guide and the briefing video, a number of other documents are available here should you have the need for them. These include the risk assessments that have been prepared for the school and an important guidance sheet should the situation arise where a member of your family is ill with Covid symptoms or a confirmed case. Before September a number of additional communications will be sent (details in the guide) to make sure you are kept up to date before children return to school.
Our plans for September are based on the latest Department for Education guidance and this can change at very short notice. We will keep information on this website updated and send any critical changes to families by email. Please be considerate with your questions - we are all doing our best in trying circumstances and under severe restriction. It is appreciated if families could make sure they read all the information provided before raising questions. Thank You.
For new year 7 families and those joining the 6th form there will be additional information shared about the planned induction activities and support at the beginning of next term. New Year 7 families can also visit the Joining us in September area of this website for more specific information and help.
I look forward wholeheartedly to welcoming back students and staff in September. Our chance to "succeed together" in our wonderful school is something filling our community with optimism for the future. All warmest prayers and wishes to members of the Minster School community, especially those joining us for the first time. Have a peaceful summer.
