GCSE Results Day - 2026
The Minster School Celebrates GCSE Success
Students at The Minster School in Southwell, part of Minster Trust for Education, are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results today as they collect their grades and begin preparing for the next stage of their educational journey.
There were smiles, excitement and plenty of celebrations as students returned to school to receive their results and reflect on the achievements of the past five years.
This year's outcomes reflect the hard work, determination and resilience shown by students throughout their studies, supported by the dedication of staff and families. Among the headline achievements, over 80% of students secured a Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics, while more than one in five students achieved a Grade 7 or above in both English and Mathematics, demonstrating strong performance across the cohort.
As students consider their next steps, many are now looking forward to continuing their studies at The Minster School Sixth Form, where they will build on their successes and prepare for future pathways in higher education, apprenticeships and employment. The school is excited to welcome a large number of students back in September to begin this next chapter.
Ben Chaloner, Head Teacher of The Minster School, said:
"I would like to congratulate all of our students on their GCSE results. Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work, commitment and resilience they have demonstrated throughout their time at The Minster School.”
"These outcomes represent much more than grades. They reflect years of effort, determination and personal growth, and I am immensely proud of everything our students have achieved. The strength of these results is testament to the ambition of our young people and the support provided by our dedicated staff and families.”
"We are particularly delighted to be welcoming so many students back to our Sixth Form in September. We look forward to continuing to support them as they pursue their aspirations and take the next steps towards bright and successful futures.”
The Minster School and MITRE are proud of every student receiving results today and wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their journey.
